Turkey Raises $692 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey has exported 183 thousand 722 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 692 million 558 thousand 224 U.S. dollars in the 38th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 144 thousand 818 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 21 thousand 883 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 10 thousand 512 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 6 thousand 509 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 225 thousand 516 tons of hazelnuts and obtained an income of 514 million 379 thousand 211 U.S. dollars.
