Tusiad Opens Office In Beijing

BEIJING - Turkish Industrialists' & Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) opened an office in Chinese capital Beijing on Monday.
Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek, who attended the inauguration ceremony, said that China should not be seen as a threat.
"On the contrary, China offers opportunities for Turkish companies," Simsek said.
Stating that China is very likely to become the largest economy in the world in 2050, Simsek said this move by TUSIAD means the affirmation of economic shift toward the East, and added that China and India will become influential countries in global economy and politics after 40 years.
"I believe that Turkish presence here in China, led by TUSIAD, will play a significant part in meeting trade deficit between the two countries, which is against Turkey," Simsek said.
On the other hand, TUSIAD Chairperson Arzuhan Dogan Yalcindag said that Beijing office is the fifth TUSIAD representative office following Washington D.C., Paris, Brussels and Berlin.
"We aim at contributing to policies in investments, trade relations and political relations between Turkey and China," she noted.
