RABAT - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, who is currently paying a four-day official visit to Morocco, met with Abdelwahed Radi, the speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco, and Moroccan Parliament's Upper Chamber Speaker Mustapha Oukacha.
Speaking at the meeting, Radi described Turkey as a great country with its history, economy and culture, adding that they wanted to further improve their relations with Turkey.
Noting that Turkey, a member of NATO and a candidate of the European Union (EU), should undertake important missions both in Palestine and Iraq as a Muslim country.
Radi stressed that Turkey, having good relations with both Arab countries and European countries, could make significant contribution to efforts to solve regional problems.
Meanwhile, Arinc said in his part, ''we consider terrorism a crime against humanity. Therefore, we believe that countries should co-operate with each other in fight against terrorism.
Referring to recent developments in the Middle East, Arinc stressed that regional countries should launch initiatives to put an end to bloodshed in the region.
Recalling that a free trade agreement was signed between the two countries during Moroccan Prime Minister Driss Jettou's visit to Turkey last month, Arinc said that Turkey had signed such an agreement with an Arab and African country for the first time in its history.
