TRABZON - A memorial service will take place in northern province of Trabzon to commemorate victims of last year's plane crash on the first anniversary of the accident.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Monday that all preparatory works had been completed for the memorial service to be held on May 26, 2004.
Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul, Spanish Defense Minister Jose Bono, Spanish Deputy Defense Minister Torente Sanchez, and relatives of Spanish soldiers, who lost their lives in the accident, will attend the service.
Tight security measures will be taken in the province during the service.
An Ukrainian plane crashed in the Pilav mountain near Kockine hamlet in Sahinkaya region in Macka on May 26, 2003, killing the thirteen crew members including a Belorussian and 12 Ukrainian citizens, and sixty-two Spanish peacekeeping soldiers returning from Afghanistan.
