ANKARA - Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit met Gen. Bantz Craddock, the commander of U.S. European Command, on Saturday.
"Gen. Craddock and the committee along with him visited Gen. Buyukanit at the General Staff HQ," an information note posted on the General Staff web-page said.
According to the information note, the generals debated possible Turkish-U.S. cooperation against the terrorist organization PKK, including enhanced intelligence sharing.
"This meeting is a follow-up of the November 5 meeting between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erodgan and President George Bush in Washington and last week's visit to Ankara by General David Petraeus (the commander of the multinational force in Iraq) and General James Cartwright (the vice chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff)," it also said.
