KIZILCAHAMAM - Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Saturday maintaining pluralist democracy and broadening atmosphere of freedom are vital in combatting terrorism.
"Atmosphere of freedom is the enemy of violence and terrorism," Erdogan told members of his Justice & Development (AK) Party in a consultation and assessment meeting in Ankara's Kizilcahamam town.
Erdogan said Turkey has to isolate the terrorist organization in and out of its territories, and cut its social, logistic, financial and psychological support.
"I can say that we have made serious progress, but there are still things that we have to do," he also said.
Erdogan said this is the first time that Turkey is seeing this much foreign support for its fight against terrorism.
"However, we expect our friends to freeze financial resources of the terrorist organization and take concrete measures to end terrorist acts," he also said.
Erdogan said the terrorist organization has been surrounded from all sides, and fight against terrorism is a long process.
"We should use political, diplomatic and military means in a right and efficient way and well manage social psychology in order to succeed in this fight," he also said.
Erdogan said the final target of fight against terrorism is to make the terrorist organization lay down arms.
"We will never make policy over discriminative themes, we will sing all songs of this country altogether," he also said.
Erdogan said Turkey will eradicate terrorism and complete social restoration process.
