Coepa Secretary General Haller To Prepare A Report On Representation Status Of Trnc Parliamentarians In Coepa

PARIS - Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (COEPA) political groups chairpersons have taken up on Monday the implementation of the decision which was adopted last month and envisaging the participation of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) parliamentarians in activities of COEPA.
Diplomatic sources said that COEPA Secretary General Bruno Haller was assigned to prepare a report which would include proposals regarding the implementation of the decision.
Haller will present his report to COEPA chairmanship council during the meeting which will be held in Strasbourg on June 21.
Diplomatic sources said that the representation status of TRNC parliamentarians would become clear following the report of Haller.
A decision, which envisages the participation of TRNC parliamentarians in general assembly meetings of COEPA and making them deliver speeches, was prevented with the initiative of Greek Cypriots during general assembly meetings of COEPA last month.
COEPA decided to invite TRNC parliamentarians to general assembly activities within Greek Cypriot delegation with the proposal that was accepted in COEPA.
