ISTANBUL - British Secretary of State for Justice Jack Straw said Friday Britain condemns terrorist attacks of PKK.
Straw delivered a speech in a conference titled "Turkey and EU: Partnership for Security and Prosperity" at Bogazici University in Istanbul.
Turkey is a part of the EU, he stated.
Straw said Turkey always played a key role and it also assumed an important role in Afghanistan in regard to preservation of peace.
Turkey's EU membership is important in regard to the future of the international community, he stated.
"We are attached to each other against terrorism. We will work together for our ideals in modern world by inviting Turkey to the EU," Straw said.
In regard to Turkey's fight against terrorism, Straw said international community was aware of the threat by terrorist organization PKK.
Every kind of common interest exists to assist territorial integrity of Iraq and secure stability in this country, Straw said and stated Turkey gave necessary time to diplomacy through dialogue with the Iraqi government and other countries.
Straw added Britain also exerted efforts for concrete steps to be taken against PKK.
