Turkish Police Seize 39.5 Kg Heroin In Istanbul

ISTANBUL - Turkish police seized 39.5 kilograms of heroin in an operation they staged in Avcilar district of Istanbul, sources said on Saturday.
Acting on a tip-off, police followed a truck which was en route from Turkey to a European country and found 39.5 kilograms of heroin hidden in the truck.
Police detained three people, including the driver of the truck, in connection with the haul.
Efforts are under way to find a few more people in connection with heroin trafficking.
