ISTANBUL/ANKARA - Turkish police seized 10 kilograms of heroin in Turkish metropolis of Istanbul on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, police searched the suitcases of a German citizen named Angela Varlemann at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen Airport and confiscated 10 kilograms of heroin.
An Istanbul court sent Varlemann to prison on charges of illicit drug trafficking.
On the other hand, police impounded 24 kilograms of hashish in capital Ankara and arrested two people in connection with the haul.
