ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke to Syrian President Bashar al-Asad by phone, sources said on Thursday.
According to sources, Erdogan and al-Asad exchanged views on overcoming a deadlock in the presidential election process in Lebanon.
After Lebanese PM Fuad Siniora and parliamentary opposition leader Saad Hariri requested PM Erdogan to assist a resolution of deadlock in the presidential election process that jeopardizes political stability of Lebanon, Erdogan called al-Asad to take up the matter.
