FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM CAN NOT TAKE PLACE ONLY WITH ARMS
Explaining his views on fight against terrorist PKK organization, President Abdullah Gul said, "terrorists also know that they can not fight against Turkey which is a thousand times stronger than it. We will deal with terrorism without damaging feelings of citizens of Kurdish origin who are a part of the nation. It can not take place only with weapons."
FIRST STEP FROM BRITAIN FOR EUROPE WITHOUT VISA
Britain takes the first step in line with the decision of European Court of Justice, dated September 20th, 2007, that Turkish citizens can enter Europe without visa. According to a statement released by British Embassy in Turkey, it was stated that "laws are being reviewed aiming to find the most appropriate way to provide opportunity for the Turkish citizens to ask for entry permit to Britain to build up a business."

Answering criticisms against his administration that it is still not conducting a cross-border operation into north of Iraq, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said they are not cowboys. The Turkish government pursued a successful diplomacy and made terrorist PKK organization stand alone. At the same time, the Turkish government warned the local administration in north of Iraq and the central Iraqi government regarding PKK. Turkey gave an image that it is determined to protect its territory without being a violent country.
TERIM: I CONTINUE TO SERVE NATIONAL TEAM
Turkey coach Fatih Terim said he will continue working as the coach of the national team. After defeating Bosnia-Herzegovina on Wednesday, the Turkish National Team qualified to participate in Euro 2008 finals which will take place in Austria and Switzerland in June. Turkey is among 16 teams in the finals of Euro 2008 finals.

TWO IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENTS ABOUT NORTH OF IRAQ
Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit, who met Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, gave information about the talks that took place with the two high-ranking generals of the United States. It was reported that Erdogan and Gen. Buyukanit assessed the implementation stages of the operation motion.
On the other hand, President Abdullah Gul, who visited Tbilisi, stated that common sense has begun to prevail for Masoud Barzani and that several steps were taken to neutralize PKK.

President Abdullah Gul approved the decree on appointment of Transportation Ministry Undersecretary Ibrahim Sahin as state-run Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) director general. 10th President Ahmet Necdet Sezer had vetoed the decree 2 times before.
TURKEY QUALIFIES TO EURO 2008 FINALS
Turkey defeated Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 Euro 2008 Group C qualifier in Istanbul and secured a place in next year's finals in Austria and Switzerland.

Ministry of Health made a new step within the scope of fight against obesity. From now on, "provincial health nutrition and active life committees" will carry out the activities about healthy nutrition and obesity.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said PKK was after ideologic targets by exploiting citizens of Kurdish origin. Erdogan said, "everybody, who aspires democracy, should act as collective body against terrorism. Nobody should support terrorist organization. Otherwise, my nation will isolate them."

The new Director General of Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) Ibrahim Sahin said that he can manage 40 tv channels with existing employees of TRT. Sahin's goal is to establish a new tv channel that is similar to CNN and BBC. "There is great lack of motivation among TRT employees," Sahin told.

DTP REFERS TO PKK AS TERRORIST FOR FIRST TIME
Bengi Yildiz, a deputy of the Democratic Society Party (DTP), referred to PKK members as terrorists during a speech delivered at the Turkish parliament on Wednesday. "PKK is an organization that has chosen violence," Yildiz told. This was the first time a DTP deputy referred to PKK as terrorist.
NUMBER OF TOURISTS VISITING TURKEY RISES BY 25.6 PERCENT
The number of tourists visiting Turkey rose by 25.6 percent compared to 2006. In the first 10 months of 2007, a total of 21,144,513 tourists visited Turkey.
