We Support Turkey's Bid To Join E.U., Jansa

ANKARA - Turkish Speaker of Parliament Koksal Toptan received Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa in Ankara on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters, Toptan indicated that "Turkey has not diverted from its path to the European Union (EU). On the contrary, Turkey will be more sensitive in fulfilling its responsibilities on the way to the EU from now on."
"Slovenia will become the EU president in 2008. I am confident that Turkish-EU relations will further develop during Slovenia's term as the president," Toptan noted.
Meanwhile, Jansa stressed that Slovenia "supports Turkey's bid to join the EU."
"Turkey continues to be a source of stability in its region and the Middle East," Jansa noted.
Toptan-Jansa meeting was closed to the press.
