TBILISI - Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said Wednesday a window has been opened to Europe with Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway project.
Speaking at ground-breaking ceremony of Georgian part of BTK railway project, Saakashvili said the line will have great contributions to development of Georgian economy, and he held continuous talks with Turkish President Abdullah Gul and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to implement this project.
On upcoming presidential elections in Georgia on January 5th, Saakashvili expressed hope that the construction of the railway line will be completed soon after the elections.
Saakashvili expressed belief that BTK project will encourage more foreign investments in his country.
