ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday welcomed his Slovenian counterpart Janez Jansa with a formal ceremony in the Prime Ministry building in Ankara.
Erdogan and Jansa are expected to give a news conference at the end of their talks.
President Abdullah Gul and Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan will receive Jansa during his stay in Turkey.
Accompanied by high-level officials and businessmen, Jansa will address Turkish-Slovenian Business Council with Prime Minister Erdogan.
Turkey and Slovenia are expected to sign agreements on cooperation in areas of health, medicine, agriculture, information and communication technologies, on the sidelines of Jansa's visit.
-SLOVENIA TO BECOME EU PRESIDENT ON JANUARY 1ST-
Slovenia will take over the rotating presidency of the European Union on January 1st, 2008 --the first country to be so honored among the ten members inducted into the EU in 2004.
