TBILISI - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Wednesday the regional administration in north of Iraq apparently took some steps to neutralize the terrorist organization PKK.
"The regional administration in northern Iraq has to assess well the cost of supporting (the terrorist organization) PKK versus the advantages of cooperating with Turkey," Gul told Turkish journalists in Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Gul is actually in Georgia to participate in the groundbreaking ceremony of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili will also participate in the ceremony.
President Gul underlined importance of this project and said Armenia can participate in it on condition that the Upper Karabakh problem is solved.
"Karabakh problem seems to be frozen. (OSCE) Minsk group should exert more efforts for a settlement because (current) efforts are insufficient," he said.
-TURKEY-GEORGIA-
On Turkish-Georgian bilateral relations, Gul said two countries will sign agreements today to introduce tax and business facilities.
Gul said joint use of Batumi airport by Turkey and Georgia has facilitated travel between Batumi and Turkey without a visa.
"Turkish Airlines (THY) also included Batumi Airport among its domestic flight destinations", he also said.
