ANKARA - Ibrahim Sahin, the Undersecretary of Transportation Ministry, was appointed as the new DG of state-run Turkish Radio & Television (TRT).
The decree on the appointment, approved by President Abdullah Gul, was published on Wednesday's Official Gazette.
Ibrahim Sahin was born in Black Sea province of Amasaya in 1962. Sahin graduated from Faculty of Law in 1986 and stayed in Britain for some time to carry out studies on British management system.
Sahin acted as sub-governor in towns of Samsun, Konya, Kars, Bitlis and Kastamonu and was appointed as legal adviser of Interior Ministry in 2001.
In 2003, Sahin acted as DG of Post, Telephone, Telegraph (PTT) and appointed as Undersecretary of Transportation Ministry in 2005.
Sahin is married and has one child.
