ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister & Chief Negotiator for the EU talks Ali Babacan returned to Turkey from Brussels where he attended Turkey-EU Troika meeting.
Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, who will accompany Slovenian PM Janez Jansa during his visit to Turkey, also came to Ankara upon the invitation from Babacan.
Babacan and Rupel had the opportunity to discuss several issues aboard the plane.
According to diplomatic sources, Portuguese Foreign Minister Luis Amada, FM Rupel of Slovenia, the next EU Rotating President, EU Commissioner Olli Rehn and EU joint policy chief Javier Solana in their speeches at the Troika meeting, said they appreciated the method Turkey pursued to deal with terrorist PKK organization.
The same sources indicated that the EU representatives stated that Turkey has the right to protect their citizens.
