ANKARA - A group of members of the Work Party (EMEP) has held a demonstration in front of the Israeli Embassy in Ankara to protest recent attacks on Palestinian people.
The members of the EMEP gathered in front of the Israeli Embassy and chanted slogans against Israel and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
Speaking on behalf of the group, EMEP Deputy Chairman Haydar Kaya said, ''Israel has gone beyond limits with its massacre and genocide policies in Palestine. The international community and the civilized world have remained silent against this brutality. Their silence has encouraged Zionist officials who on one hand expressed their sorrow and the on the other announced that their massacres would continue under the title of Rainbow Operation.''
He also said that U.S. President George W. Bush had encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Sharon to continue his massacres against Palestinian people.
Later, members of the group paid a visit to the Palestinian Embassy in Ankara, and extended their condolences.
Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey Fouad Yaseen thanked members of the EMEP for their support to Palestinian people, saying that recent developments in Palestine were nothing, but organized state terrorism.
Noting that Sharon and his supporters would never reach their target, Yaseen added that Palestinian people would maintain their resistance.
