ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, "international investment which flowed into Turkey was 15.3 billion USD as of September 2007. It seems that we will catch 25 billion USD by the end of the year."
Speaking at a reception of International Investors Association (YASED), Erdogan said that international investment made in Turkey in 2006 was more than 20 billion USD.
Noting that Turkey increased 34 ranks to 57th in World Bank's "Doing Business 2008" report which was published in September 2007, Erdogan said that Turkey took place the 16th level in the world and 5th among developing countries with its 20 billion USD of international capital inflow according to "World Investment Report 2007" of UN Trade & Development Organization.
Erdogan said that Turkey ranked 71st among 117 countries in 2005 in the Global Competitiveness Report of World Economic Forum (WEF), adding that Turkey ranked the 59th among 125 countries in 2006 and 53rd among 131 countries in 2008.
Erdogan also said that Turkey ranks the 3rd after the U.S. and China in international construction services area.
