EDIRNE - Turkey's first speed train, purchased from Spanish CAF corporation, has arrived at the Kapikule Border Pass on Tuesday.
Carried to the French city of Handea in trucks, the speed train travelled through Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria on rails prior to reaching the Kapikule Border Pass in north-western province of Edirne.
The speed train is now on its way to the Sirkeci train station in Istanbul. From Sirkeci, the speed train will be carried in a ferryboat to the Haydarpasa train station in Istanbul.
The speed train will be utilized between Ankara and Istanbul. It can travel at a speed up to 250 km per hour.
