ANKARA - Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek, who is also the spokesman for the government, said on Monday the government is not thinking of issuing a general amnesty.
When recalled the statement of PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan that, "our prior stance is laying down arms," and asked if a general amnesty is in question, Cicek said the government is not thinking of issuing a general amnesty.
Cicek also said after the Council of Ministers meeting that a decree on appointment of Ibrahim Sahin, the Undersecretary of Transportation Ministry, as the new DG of state-run Turkish Radio & Television (TRT), was opened to signature of the cabinet.
