Turkey's First Speed Train Due To Edirne On Tuesday

ANKARA - Turkey will welcome its first speed train on Tuesday.
The speed train, purchased from the Spanish CAF corporation, will arrive in north western province of Edirne at around 3.00 a.m. on Tuesday.
The speed train was carried to France's Handea city on trucks. The speed train was placed on the railway in France and would have travelled through Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Bulgaria prior to reaching Kapikule Border Pass at Edirne.
The speed train will be used for trips between Ankara and Istanbul. It can travel at speeds up to 250 km per hour.
The speed train will arrive in Istanbul's Sirkeci train station from where it will be placed in a ferryboat and taken to the Haydarpasa train station in Istanbul. From Haydarpasa the train will travel to Ankara on rails.
Trial trips of the speed train will take place between Ankara and Eskisehir.
