ISTANBUL - Eminent philosopher John Naisbitt, who has been observing social tendencies and developing trends in the world, will come to Istanbul on June 8, 2004 to attend a conference as speaker.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Thursday that Naisbitt would attend a conference to be sponsored by Akbank Private Banking and organized jointly by the Celebrity Speakers International and the Hurriyet Newspaper on ''Thinking Methods of the Future and New Searches''.
Naisbitt studied at Harvard, Utah, and Cornell universities. He served as executive with IBM and Eastman Kodak. He served as Assistant Secretary of Education to President Kennedy and as Special Assistant to President Johnson.
He worked as visiting fellow at Harvard University, visiting professor at Moscow State University, and current faculty member at the Nanjing University in China. He was appointed as the first non-Asian distinguished international fellow at the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) in Malaysia. He is the recipient of 15 honorary doctorates in the humanities, technology and science.
Naisbitt published the international bestsellers Re-inventing the Corporation in 1985, Megatrends 2000 in 1990, which was published in 32 countries and the Number One bestseller in the U.S., Japan, and Germany, and Megatrends for Women in 1992, (co-authored with Patricia Aburdene).
His book, Global Paradox, received Britain's World Review Award for The Best Book of The Year.
His latest book, High Tech High Touch, was published in the fall of 1999 and has since been published in 17 countries. He is currently working on his next book, A World Between Eras.
