First Tourist Group Passes From Greek Cypriot Side To Turkish Republic Of N. Cyprus

LEFKOSA - First tourist group passed from Greek Cypriot side to Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Tuesday under the Green Line Regulations which allows tourists who come to Cyprus to spend their holidays to visit the two sides.
TRNC Economy and Tourism Ministry Undersecretary Yalcin Vehit said that 88 person tourist group who came to Greek Cypriot side for holiday passed from Metehan border gate to TRNC by buses.
The group including tourists from Britain, Germany, Belgium and Sweden will visit historical and touristic places in Girne and they will return to Greek Cypriot side in the evening.
Yalcin said that they expected such tours to continue and stated that tourists visiting Greek Cypriot side would also want to see TRNC, as there were many places worth visiting in TRNC.
