ISTANBUL - Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun who visited the United States and Belgium returned to Turkey on Monday.
At Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, Coskun told reporters that he met with officials of Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Brussels and discussed OECD Ministerial Meeting to be held in Istanbul between June 2 and 6.
Coskun defined his meetings as fruitful and said that the theme of the OECD Ministerial Meeting would be increasing competitive power of small and medium scale enterprises in the globalizing world.
Besides ministers of non-OECD countries, representatives of 87 international non-governmental organizations, two thousand technocrats, bureaucrats and representatives of business world would join the Istanbul meeting, Coskun stated.
Coskun recalled that he joined the Turkish Day Parade in New York, the United States before he flew to Brussels and defined the parade as splendid.
Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Coskun added that not only Turkish citizens but also citizens of friendly Turkish republics and autonomous republics within the Russian Federation joined the parade.
Coskun, who left for the United States on May 12, held several meetings in this country and joined the Turkish Day Parade organized by the Federation of Turkish American Associations (FTAA) in New York on May 16.
Turkish Industry and Trade Minister Ali Coskun, who proceeded from New York to Belgium, earlier on Monday informed press members about OECD Ministerial Conference which will be held in Istanbul at the beginning of June in a meeting held in Brussels. OECD Deputy Secretary General Herwig Schlogl also attended the meeting.
