WASHINGTON - Death reason of Iraqi National Turkmen Party Honorary Chairman Mustafa Kemal Yaycili was stated as traffic accident in Kirkuk on Friday.
Earlier in the day, officials of Iraqi Turkmen Front said that Yaycili died in an armed attack on a check point at Kirkuk-Tuz Khurmato highway.
An official from U.S. State Department told A.A correspondent on Friday that the news claiming that Yalcili died when U.S. soldiers opened fire were completely wrong.
Noting that the officials in the region were still continuing the investigation, U.S. official said that Yalcili died in a traffic accident and added that nobody opened fire.
U.S. official said that according to the information they received, the driver of Yaycili's car was driving very fast and they collided with another car coming from opposite direction.
Meanwhile, Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul offered on Friday his condolences to the wife of Yaycili.
