MERSIN - Rescue efforts, which started after a ship sank off Karpas cape in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on May 11, have been called off.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Saturday rescue efforts to find two crew members Rahmi Yildiz and Fehmi Oztekin were called off 72 hours after the accident.
A TRNC-flagged 848 gross ton Ro-Ro ship ''DOLPHIN 2'' carrying trucks from Turkey's southern port of Mersin to Magosa port of TRNC sank 15 nautical miles off Karpas cape early on May 11. 24 out of the 26 crew members were rescued.
