Turkey Prefers To Send Development Team To Taqhar Region In Afghanistan

ANKARA - Turkey preferred to send development team to Taqhar region of Afghanistan within the scope of provincial development programs, diplomatic sources said on Friday.
Diplomatic sources said that if Turkey was to send provincial development team to Afghanistan, it would prefer Taqhar region in north of the country.
The same sources stated that Taqhar was not among regions to which NATO gave priority and noted that there was a demand on Turkey's being directed to Herat city of Afghanistan.
Ankara did not approach this demand positively as Herat was not appropriate logistically for Turkey, sources added.
