ANKARA - British Prime Minister Tony Blair would pay one-day working visit to Turkey on May 17, Turkish Prime Ministry said on Friday.
Turkish Prime Ministry Press Center said that Blair`s visit would be the first visit to be paid as a part of the agreement reached between the prime ministers of two countries last year to hold regular meetings.
Blair will be received by Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan will host a dinner in Blair`s honor.
Bilateral, regional and international issues concerning both Turkey and Britain particularly Turkey-European Union (EU) relations, Cyprus, fight against terrorism, NATO summit to be held in Turkey in June, and Iraq are expected to be taken up during Blair`s meetings.
Blair is expected to depart from Turkey the same day.
