AMMAN - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, who is currently in Amman for the meeting of parliament speakers of neighboring countries with Iraq, had a meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mehdi Karoubi on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters following the meeting, Arinc said that he had a beneficial meeting with Karoubi.
Arinc noted that he explained problems on management of Tehran's Imam Khomeini Airport constructed by Turkish Tepe-Akfen Joint Initiative to Karoubi and stated that a problem emerged as Tepe-Akfen Joint Initiative's right to manage the airport was taken from it. Arinc noted that Turkish government and foreign ministry launched necessary initiatives on this issue and added that he also explained the issue to Karoubi.
''I told Karoubi that Tepe-Akfen Joint Initiative's right to manage the airport stems from laws. I asked Karoubi to take up the issue. I said that the problem should be solved immediately. Karoubi said that he also knew this issue and noted that such a decision was taken due to some incomprehensible interferences. He charged two parliamentarians with searching for the issue. Karoubi said that they will work to remove this problem following the search,'' he noted.
Arinc said that all facilities which were constructed by Turkish companies abroad should be taken under guarantee and noted, ''Iranian Parliament Speaker approached the issue positively. I believe that he will contribute to solution of the issue. It is a guarantee for us.''
