Tuzmen On Turkish Export Figures

ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Friday that Turkey's 12-month export figure is 102.8 billion USD.
Speaking at the 10th Foreign Trade Youth Assembly in Ankara, Tuzmen said that the yearly exports of Turkey --which was 27 billion USD in 1998-- climbed to 85.5 billion USD in 2006 and Turkey has become the champion among OECD countries in the aspect of export increase and market earning.
He also noted that Turkey's share in world trade is 1 percent.
Tuzmen said that the number of exporting companies was 24,000 in 1998, while it exceeded 44,000 in 2006.
Tuzmen recalled that Turkey's export target for 2023 is 500 billion USD.
