Automotive Exports Outpace Last Year's Figures In Ten Months

BURSA - Automotive exports were up by 35 percent in ten months of 2007 to reach 16.1 billion USD, an amount that outpaced last year's total automotive exports.
Last year, Turkish automotive sector exported a total of 14.8 billion USD of automotive products to 170 countries, according to Uludag Exporters' Association (UIB) figures.
This year, passenger cars outsold other export items, such as trucks, vans and automotive supplier industry. Automotive manufacturers earned 5.5 billion USD from passenger car exports so far this year.
Automotive manufacturers shipped their products mostly to European countries, mainly Germany, Italy, France and Britain.
