Erdogan Says Turkey's Agenda Involves A Military Operation, Not A War

ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Friday Turkey's agenda regarding the terrorist PKK presence in northern Iraq only involved a military operation "not a war."
"What we have on our agenda is an operation not a war and we hope that there will be no need for an operation," Erdogan told a gathering of his Justice and Development (AK) Party's regional office heads.
"This operation would have a specific target and we will take necessary steps to reach that target when the time comes," Erdogan said.
Erdogan also lashed out at attempts to present as if Turkey was preparing for a full-scale war, rejecting them as insincere.
"These attempts aim at raising certain sensitivities within the society and hurting peace and stability," he said. "No one has the right to disturb social integrity and a sense of brotherhood among our people."
