ANKARA - Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Manuchehr Motaki will pay a visit to Ankara on Thursday evening ahead of the International Conference on Iraq in Istanbul.
According to diplomatic sources, Motaki wanted to visit Ankara for a while before proceeding to Istanbul to attend scheduled International Conference on Iraq.
Motaki will meet Turkish Foreign Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan.
Diplomatic sources recalled that Motaki visited Iraq on Wednesday, and that the guest minister during his visit to Ankara would share his impressions regarding his visit to Iraq.
Sources said Motaki's visit was not a mediation between Turkey and Iraq, and Turkey was actually in direct contact with Iraq in this respect.
