Arinc: All Neighboring And Regional Countries Should Undertake Responsibility For Democratization, Security And Stability Of Iraq

AMMAN - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Wednesday that all neighboring and regional countries to Iraq should undertake responsibility for democratization, security and stability of Iraq.
Arinc, who attended meeting of parliament speakers of neighbor countries to Iraq, evaluated the meeting.
Noting that Turkey attributed very much importance to this meeting, Arinc stressed that Turkey was a neighbor of Iraq.
Arinc said that the meeting, which was held for five times on foreign ministers level in the past, was now held on parliament speakers level for the first time. He added that they expressed Turkey's views and suggestions regarding the incidents occurred in Iraq within Turkey's traditional foreign policy.
Noting that views of other parliament speakers were mainly similar with Turkey's views, Arinc said, ''there are negativities in Iraq. We, as parliament speakers, have determined these negativities. These are incidents which occur in Iraq and offend honor and pride of people, human rights violations which occur in prisons, and negative issues which are experienced during transition process to democratization.''
Arinc said that painful incidents which occurred in prisons were brought onto agenda and added that they wanted people who were responsible from those incidents to be punished and the incidents to be accepted as individual events.
Arinc said that they, as parliament speakers, agreed on rapid democratization of Iraq.
