ADIYAMAN - Marc Pierini, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, said Thursday European Union (EU) condemned all kinds of terrorism and clearly expressed its views in its statements.
Pierini met representatives of several NGOs at a meeting in southeastern province of Adiyaman.
During the meeting, Pierini said EU countries had declared PKK to be a terrorist organization and there was no uncertainty about it.
Pierini also commented on Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's remarks that several EU countries did not take necessary precautions against certain terrorist organizations.
EU was not made up of a single country, Pierini said.
He said EU took position on certain matters not as a federal state but by reaching a consensus among member countries. He added that some member states individually determined the measures they would take afterwards.
Pierini also said the Turkish government focused on the ways to eliminate the economic, cultural and social differences within the Turkish society.
He said political and economic imbalances might arise in the future if differences were not eliminated and a balance was not provided.
Pierini said they definitely desired the participation of a modern and prosperous Turkey in the EU.
