ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul will attend Turkey-the European Union (EU) Associate Partnership meeting.
Releasing a statement, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Wednesday that the 43rd session of the Associate Partnership Council, the highest-level decision-making organ between Turkey and the EU, would be held in Brussels on May 18, 2004 under the chairmanship of Gul.
Recent developments in Turkey's accession process to the EU, and steps to be taken in the coming period will be assessed at the meeting.
The sides are expected to exchange views on several issues about the functions of the Customs Union.
Meanwhile, Gul is scheduled to attend the Inter-governmental Conference meeting in which the draft constitution of the EU will be discussed.
