ANKARA - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesman Namik Tan has said, ''there are some behavioral codes to be taken into consideration by representatives of foreign countries and organizations in the countries they are assigned. We expect them to pay careful attention to these codes.''
Speaking at a weekly press conference, Tan said on Wednesday about some statements of Hansjorg Kretschmer, the head of the European Commission Representation to Turkey, ''there are some behavioral codes to be taken into consideration by representatives of foreign countries and organizations in the countries they are assigned. Earlier, Kretschmer said that he did not consider Turkish Armed Forces' explaining its views over the draft law about the Higher Education Board (YOK) right. He said involvement of the Turkish Armed Forces in such arguments was not helpful and defined the army's involvement in YOK argument in a quite different manner than it had earlier assumed about the reforms and the Cyprus issue as ''a step backward''.
