Turkey: We Are Expecting An Objective Determination To Be Made In Annan Report

ANKARA - Turkey expected Cyprus report, which would be presented by the United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan to U.N. Security Council, to be objective, said Turkish Foreign Ministry Spokesman Namik Tan on Wednesday.
Speaking at a weekly press conference at the Foreign Ministry, Tan said that Annan would present the report to U.N. Security Council in coming days, thus Council's decision-taking mechanism would function.
''We are expecting an objective determination to be made in the report of U.N. Secretary General, and the positive and constructive attitudes of Turkey and Turkish Cypriot side in this process to be registered. As a conclusion, we are expecting a concrete step to be taken for lifting unjust embargo and isolation over Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) until today,'' said Tan.
