WASHINGTON - International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Designate Rodrigo Rato said on Tuesday that he saw no economic crisis risk in Turkey.
Rato told his first press conference in Washington that IMF would continue to work with the Turkish government either with the program or without it.
Former Spanish Minister of Finance and new IMF Managing Director Rato said that he did not see any possibility of economic crisis in Turkey when he was recalled about recent economic developments in Turkey.
Rato expressed thought that the Turkish efforts made in the last three years were fulfilling what was established in the program with the IMF.
Recalling that the Turkish government was looking into the possibility, that was up to the Turkish government, to put in force a new program, Rato said, ''and either with the program or without it, we will continue working with the Turkish government in what is clearly a better macroeconomic situation in the country and a very impressive set of structural reforms that should continue in the future.''
Rato called on Turkey to continue its reforms in the future.
