Turkish, Greek And Italian Teams Parachute In Selcuk For Peace

AEGEAN SEA OF PEACE FRIENDSHIP PARACHUTING 2004
SELCUK - Turkish, Greek and Italian parachuting teams jumped with parachute over Selcuk town of Turkey's western province of Izmir on Tuesday under an activity called ''Aegean Sea of Peace Friendship Parachuting 2004''.
Two Turkish, fourteen Greek and two Italian parachuters attended the activity organized by the Second Main Jet Base Flight Training Center Command Battle Search-Rescue School (MAK) in Cigli town of Izmir.
At first, retired Air Chief Marshal T. Konstantinos of Greece jumped from a CN 235 CASA plane with a parachute and he was followed by other Greek parachuters and Turkish and Italian parachuters.
Squadron Leader Gokhan Sahin Sonmezates from MAK who joined the parachuting activity told reporters that a parachute training activity in which retired officers from three NATO allies participated was conducted.
Meanwhile, 53-year-old Greek parachuter Katsikas Angelos sprained his ankle as he landed. Turkish military doctors made the first aid and he was later taken to hospital.
