ANKARA - United States Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President for International Affairs Daniel Christman has said that they wanted to increase trade with Turkey and the current amount of investments in Turkey.
Replying to questions of the A.A correspondent on Tuesday, Christman said that figures about the Turkish economy were quite good as growth rate had increased, inflation rate had dropped and exports had increased.
Stressing that Turkey had increased its trade volume especially with its neighboring countries, Christman said that they could cooperate by making use of Turkey's experiences in this field.
Noting that there were a number of attractive investments fields in Turkey in parallel to its privatization program, Christman said that they would encourage U.S. businessmen to make more investments in Turkey, particularly in energy, transportation, infrastructure services, tourism and telecommunications sectors.
Daniel Christman said that Turkey was a secular and democratic country which had been continuously developing and stressed that Turkey was the most influential country in the region.
Christman said that after completion of several reforms on complete liberal market economy, Turkey would be the axis of not only the region, but also the global economy.
Stressing that Turkey had been exerting very sincere efforts for resolution of the Cyprus issue, Christman said that they would launch a campaign for lifting of commercial restrictions and embargo on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Christman said that Turkish businessmen successfully supplied Iraq's food and similar needs, adding that also Turkey would benefit from the revival of Iraq's economy.
