ANKARA - Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc left on Monday for Jordan to attend the meeting of parliament speakers of neighbor countries to Iraq.
Prior to his departure, Arinc told reporters that initiatives launched by the region countries before the operation on Iraq also continued after the operation and were turned into a platform in which countries exchanged views on Iraq's future and determined their common stance.
Arinc said that appreciation of importance and benefits of that regional initiative by United Nations (UN) Secretary General was pleasing.
The meeting in Jordan would bring parliament speakers of neighbor countries to Iraq for the first time, Arinc noted.
Arinc said that he would evaluate recent developments in Iraq with parliament speakers of other countries and search for ways to support friend and sister Iraqi people in their difficult days and ways to accelerate the process which would help Iraq stand on its own feet.
