ROME - Turkish Chief General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit said Wednesday that military relations between Turkey and the U.S. would remain the same in case U.S. Congress approved a bill on Armenian allegations regarding the incidents of 1915.
"Whether we want it or not, if the bill is approved at the Congress, it is not possible for our military relations to be same as before," Buyukanit told reporters in Rome.
"I hope the bill would be turned down and our relations with the U.S. will continue to improve," he said.
A foreign relations committee of the U.S. House of Representatives approved the bill last week.
