ANKARA - Turkish government's motion targets only the terrorist organization, Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the parliamentary assembly prior to the voting of the government's motion on a possible cross-border operation into north of Iraq, Cicek indicated that once the motion gets approved, everything will be done according to the needs of Turkey.
"The motion targets the terrorist organization alone. In the past, there have been 24 cross-border operations. We have always paid attention to the difference between our innocent citizens and terrorists. We will continue to observe such difference," told Cicek.
"We are committed to be loyal to democracy. We will solve our problems in a democratic atmosphere. No one should doubt our resolve," underlined Cicek.
Cicek stressed that international cooperation is essential to facilitate permanent peace. "To date, no country has helped Turkey in its fight against terror," he added.
