ISTANBUL - International Monetary Fund (IMF) First Deputy Managing Director Anne Krueger said on Thursday that the economic program has ended and they wanted Turkey to be successful.
Delivering a speech at luncheon of Forum Istanbul-Target 2023, Krueger stressed that very serious steps had been taken in Turkey since last year.
Congratulating the government for its loyalty to economic program with serious steps, Krueger said that the government showed a performance beyond their expectations.
Noting that Turkey should continue to take steps which would decrease the inflation and provide financial discipline and general stability, Krueger said that structural reforms should be carried on in general means.
Krueger said that economic reforms had serious positive contributions and Turkey has fulfilled more successful reforms when compared with other regions of the world.
Stressing that all benefits of those reforms were seen, Krueger said that if the government lulls into complacency, it cannot reach all targets, adding that economic performance is getting better at the moment.
