BURSA - Exports of textile products from northwestern province of Bursa increased by 29.5 percent and exports of ready-to-wear clothing products rose by 5 percent to 442 million 224 thousand U.S. dollars in the first four months of 2004.
In the same period last year, exports of textile and ready-to-wear clothing products was 377 million 653 thousand U.S. dollars.
Uludag Exporters' Associations told the A.A correspondent on Thursday that textile exports increased by 35 percent from 49 million 789 thousand U.S. dollars in April of 2003 to 67 million 19 thousand U.S. dollars in April of 2004. Ready-to-wear clothing exports rose by 4 percent from 46 million 56 thousand U.S. dollars in April of 2003 to 47 million 956 thousand U.S. dollars in April of 2004.
The textile sector made exports to 88 countries and autonomous regions and 9 free zones while ready-to-wear clothing sector made exports to 82 countries and autonomous regions and 5 free zones.
