ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank announced on Thursday that its foreign exchange reserves dropped to 71.5 billion USD on October 5th.
Foreign currency reserves were 71.7 billion USD on September 28th.
In its weekly bulletin, the Central Bank indicated that its total gross reserves (foreign currency plus gold) rose to 119.4 billion USD on September 28th. On September 21st, the Central Bank's total gross reserves were 118.4 billion USD. Of that, 44.9 billion USD was from privately owned companies, including commercial banks while the Central Bank held the rest.
Meanwhile, Turkey repaid 473 million USD in foreign debt between October 1st and 10th. Turkey has repaid 14.1 billion USD in foreign debt since the beginning of the year.
