Ferry Service Begins Between Northern Cyprus And Syria

LEFKOSA - Prior to scheduled ferry trips between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Syria, which will start on October 18th, a private trip was made on Thursday between the two countries for Ramadan Feast.
Over 50 passengers departed from Gazimagusa to Syrian port city of Latakia. The ferryboat will return to the TRNC late on Thursday.
TRNC Foreign Minister Turgay Avci, who saw the passengers off at Gazimagusa Port, told the reporters that TRNC carries out proactive policies.
"We are going before Greek Cypriots. Greek Cypriot administration is trying to follow us," Avci said.
